My goals...

1. Continue to develop reading lab for struggling readers.
2. Engage students in real reading opportunities that foster a "like" at
least for reading.
3. Encourage the use of reading journals and lit circles to demonstrate and
apply comprehension skills.
4. Find new resources to improve the "summarizing" skills of my students as
this is a highly tested item.
5. Work with Language Arts teachers to collaborate more on what they are
doing so that we are on the same page with the students that we share.

PS-I am looking for engaging/motivating activities to develop "summarizing"
skills in my students.

Below are some of my goals for the year: I teach 7th grade English and
Reading in Colorado.

1. Review scores for after school program and revise my curriculum
accordingly. We invite around 15 of the students who are partially
proficient after
school to help them out.

2. Tie in the skills students are learning to real-world applications and
make it more engaging.

3. Use the resources and ideas I have in my classroom by reviewing them
regularly and trying something new.
