Check out Summarization In Any Subject: 50 Techniques To Improve Student Learning by Rick Wormeli...it's filled with every summarization strategy imaginable...and then some!  Kathy

There are about twenty pages devoted to summarizing in Marzano's book
Classroom Instruction that Works.  He includes lessons.  I can't comment on
their engaging/motivating qualities since I haven't incorporated them yet.
