iTunes software is free and works with both PC and Mac. 

If you go through iTunes to find podcasts then you'll need an iPod to play
the file beyond your computer. Your computer can play the podcast within
iTunes software so you don't need an iPod. Hope that makes sense.

So if you want kids to hear a podcast your choices are:

  1. Download the podcast to iTunes on a computer and let kids rotate
through the computer to hear the podcast.

   2. Download the podcast to iTunes on a computer. Transfer the podcast to
an iPod. Plug iPod into a classroom stereo system or set of speakers (need a
special cable for this).

   3. Go to a search engine and find where the podcast originates (most
sites also have a "download MP3" button for a podcast). Burn MP3 onto a CD.
Play the CD.
