[LIT] Oral Fluency

Bill and all--
Our district has found that using oral fluency practice is really 
helping kids with comprehension. My teachers love Reader's Theater and 
there is so much available in all content areas that it is quickly 
becoming the strategy of choice!

I was in a science classroom yesterday where the kids were doing choral 
reading using Paul Fleishman's "Joyful Noise." The poems are all about 
insects and are written for two voices. The kids were having a blast! 
The teacher then quickly flipped it into a science lesson by asking the 
kids what they had learned about insects from the poems. The list was 
incredible!
