I have used this poem format before to have students analyze a character from a short story or book. It's an excellent tool for introducing character analysis to students.

Our "I Am" poem begins like this..

I am John Smith, son of Jane and Tom Smith
I wonder
I see
I feel
I think
I am John Smith, brother of Sue and Jess Smith
I understand
I believe
I dream
I try
I hope
I am John Smith, student at St. Paul School

They are all similar inthis respect. Other than that...the answers run
the gamut!

Peace,
Kristine Nader
