I think it's the same in lots of placs. It's scarier yet when the kids start to notice. After the 3rd week in a row that I was unable to meet with my students, a little one asked where I had been. When I explained I was busy helping with all the testing he said, "But I thought you were supposed to teach kids"

She spends most of her time passing out and collecting test materials, practice test materials, and then district tests. Then carting them back and forth to the district office. It's a thankless job.
