[LIT] Update favorite "read-aloud"

Lucinda....did you do The Giver with 6th graders? If so, did you think they
were mature enough to handle the heavy subject matter  Lowry is addressing?

Lois Lowry is a wonderful writer. We loved Number the Stars (historical
fiction) and The Giver. She has a good author website we searched as a class
in the computer lab. She even responded to me on her blog. The 6th graders
loved that.
