I have had the privilege of corresponding with Cynthia
Lord who lives in Brunswick, Maine about her
incredible book, "Rules." Cynthia was kind enough to
mail a signed copy of her pre-viewed book and then
sent me a hard cover ( also signed.) When one of my
students, Steph,  did an exceptional book project on
Rules, I sent a copy to Cynthia. She wrote to my
student (a huge thrill for this budding writer) and
commended her on her project as well as Steph's own
writing skills. Yesterday, Cynthia's book became a  a
well deserved Newbery honor winner!  The Medal went to
The Higher Power of Lucky ( which I haven't read yet).
If you haven't read Rules, please do yourself a favor
and do so!
