[LIT] Shooter?

One of my coaches found a box of hardbound copies of this book in a closet
this weekend and wondered about the appropriateness of the text.  She was
going to toss them, based on the evaluation of a very conservative former
colleague.  I have not read the book, but urged her to read it first.  Have
any of you used this book and what do you think of it?
