I go along with Jamie; I always require 30 min. a night of reading, take
page, numbers, etc., but really focus on the conferencing aspect. I always
required one book project a marking period, but the goals were to "sell" the
book to others using a communications technique that was new to the child,
i.e. Powerpoint, oral interpretation, drama, dance, Publisher, film, etc.
