Hi!
Brenda Dyck, of MiddleTalk, recently asked a question about "the clickable
generation," essentially wondering how growing up in an age of interactive
technology is affecting our students. So I have two questions.
One, the obvious one - how *do* you think interactive technology is
affecting our students?
Two, less obvious - I was fascinated yesterday when my students produced a
non-linear plot outline for the play they're writing. They had a bunch of
index cards, each with an idea about what could happen in the play, and
arranged them into a line that split into a circle, the two arcs of which
then came back together to continue in another line. There was also one
plot element card by itself in the middle of the circle. My question
(finally!) is, are others seeing this kind of non-linear thinking, and if
so, would you speculate that lots of clicking might be a contributing
factor?
Take care,
