Mrs. Aitken's Northern Lights 1

Hello from the NORTHERN LIGHTS!!!!!!
George Bonner Middle School is located in Mill Bay on the southeast shore of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada about 26 miles north of Victoria, the provincial capital. Our school has approximately 720 students enrolled in grades six, seven and eight. Most of our students are bussed to school each day. It is bordered on three sides by farmland and is approximately 1 mile from the bay. George Bonner is an exemplary middle school incorporating teaming, flexible block scheduling, exploratories for all students and daily PE. It has been designed to be a “bridge” for transition from the elementary to high school. Two classes of students form a team with two main teachers; one for science, math, p.e and the other for social studies and English. We are excited to share our 28 grade seven voices and to hear yours.

I like to hear the wind swishing through the trees,
to hear the many bees buzzing to life.
I like the warmth of the summer air,
the snow in the winter season.

to play guitar when no one is home.
I like to play with my friends on a hot summer day
to swim and jump off high places.
I like when I sit down and write small things,

My crazy school day

“Wake up” my mother said
Dragging me right out of bed
Get on your clothes, get out the door
Don’t spill your milk right on the floor
I get on the bus
And don’t make a fuss
I get to school
And break a rule
I get sent home
Where I’m all alone
My parents came home and then I was doomed
Because they sent me to my room
I thought about what I had done
And I realized it was fun, fun, fun!
As soon as it was dark and dawn
I gave a huge lion like YAWN
And fell asleep
Without a peep.

Outside


Outside is the place i like to go when im down and low.The trees sway in the calm warm breeze and then i know im at ease. theres calmness outside no electronics no computer or t.v and thats the way to be. The clouds float by like cotton candy puffs you could just grasp them in your hand.The birds cheep in the morning when you sleep those are the nature sounds that the birds tweet.

Sailing My Dreams

I Sail my dreams through the night time waves,
Were birds are chocolate and tree’s are gray.
I Sail my dreams through the caramel sea,
The animals are laughing out loud with glee.

The clouds float by in sugary puffs,
Just wait a second,those are cotton candy doves!
I sit and wait through the night so late,
My nightmare’s are trapped behind a gate.

I Sail my dreams through the mountains of cream,
They taste so good I just might scream.
The rocks are big bits of fudge,
I try to move them but they just wont budge.

I sail my dreams through the peppermint breeze,
to the room were I sleep with ease.
The night is gone my dreams are gone,
I’ll see them again tomorrow.

The Elements

What is Water?
The rain when it falls is water
The waterfalls are water
the puddles on the ground are water
That is what water is

What is Wind?
The breeze in the summer is wind
The sound in the trees is wind
The element that makes waves is wind
That is what wind is

What is Fire?
The blaze in your woodstove is fire
The element that can burn you is fire
The colors red ,orange and yellow look like fire
That is what fire is

What is Air?
The thing that we need to breath is air
The element we can’t live without is air
The invisible thing we can’t see is air
That is what air is

What is Dirt?
The element that bugs live in is dirt
The food that worms eat is dirt
What mud is half made out of is dirt
That is what dirt is

What is Light?
The element that helps us to see is light
The opposite of dark is light
The Sun is what give us light

Biking is a speeding sport for people that like speed
Biking is a thing of balance and agility
Biking is what we do
We bike down hills
We bike up hills
We bike for hours or minutes
Its fun for everyone
Some do jumps and some crash into trees
Some race fast almost hitting bees
Some go far across the country states
And some go far far away
Biking is for any age even for adults and kids
Some go pro some stay low just to hang with friends.
Some make videos some make nothing
Biking is for anyone and what you do with a bike is what you want to do.
