PRAYERS OF THE ANIMALS
THE PRAYER OF A CAT
Dear Lord
I am a nice loving cat.
That likes to sit in my owners lap.
But when I sneak outside lord.
Please don’t let the tick magnet run me up a tree.
So my owner has to call the fire department.
You see.

The Prayer Of The Horse
Dear Lord,
Give me the strength I need
To run this race
I’m the slowest of them all
My hair is a mess,
My shoes are rough and need cleaning,
I’m starved all the time
Because I don’t win races,
My skin is rough
And I need a bath,
Lord please help me
Amen

“The Prayer Of A Dog”
Dear God,
I Know You’re Good,
I Know You Hear Me,
And You Understand Me.
I Want Somebody To Love Me,
And Someone Who Take Care Of Me,
That Person Will Be From You,
And That Person Will Be Like You.
I Don’t Want Be Alone,
I Want Be Happy In A Home,
I Just Want To Be Happy,
Happy With A Family.
Thanks For Your Time God,
Thanks For Being Good,
Thanks For The Person,
That Will Come Soon.
Amen.

Dear Samone Holland,
I like your poem "The Prayer of the Horse." It is insightful, showing the pleads of an ever-losing horse. I have a friend who loves horses, and I'll have to show this to her because I know she'll like it. However, in the sixth-eigth lines-
"My shoes are rough and need cleaning,
I’m starved all the time
Because I don’t win races,"
It isn't clear whether the "I" is starved all the time because it doesn't win races or because of its shoes. Great poem, though. Keep writing!
Sincerely,
