Miscellaneous Poems, Part 2

The First of Many

As I round first
I can hear people screaming
Screaming something out to me
They are saying
Jordan, Jordan!
One of my teammates yells
Look!
So I look up to the sky
And I see
I see the ball
It’s going farther and farther to the fence
Next thing I know
I am jogging instead of running
Then I finally notice
That I had hit my first
Homerun.
Little did I know
It was the first of many.

--By Jordan

With the Sub

With the sub
Everyone acting clowns
Standing up, when they know
They are supposed to be sitting down
Talking and Screaming out loud
They sound like a crowd
At a football game
But to them it doesn’t matter
One sub after another
It’s all the same.

--By Jordan

The Prayer of a RoachFather God,
I come to you humble as I know how
I thank you for my wonderful dinner last night
Now I am asking for shelter over my head and food for my starving stomach
In your son Jesus name Amen

-- By: Malika

Why I Dislike Little Bugs
I dislike them because of how they creep
I dislike them because of how they crawl
I dislike how they are everywhere
I dislike their scaly skin
I dislike their 6-8 legs
I dislike them biting
I dislike them stinging
I dislike them taking away my food
I dislike everything about them
I dislike little bugs
--Marqueeta

Walking Through the Dark City

Walking through
The dark city
With the lights
Looking down at me
I heard the
Trees howling
Bushes racking
Saw owls watching
My every move
Through the dark city

My Five Senses

Lovely animals greet me
Beautiful roses in my yard
Police sirens rumbling down my street
Wet sand soaking my fingertips
Strawberry cheesecake

Prayer of a Fox

Dear God
Give me food to catch
Water to drink
A family to care for
And friends to play with
Amen

Good Day to Exercise

The gym floor is calling my name
The machines are doing the same
Just being in here is making me insane
I can’t think because of my brain
I smell the freshness of the morning
The birds are chirping
The bells are ringing
The church choir is singing
I taste the dew of the wind
Today is a good day to exercise

Sense Poem

I see the pretty blue skies
I smell the flowers in the flower bed
I hear the chirping of the birds in their nests
I feel the sun beaming on my skin
I taste the honeysuckles off of the bush

--Jyssica

The Beach

I smell the scent of salt water and fish.
I see the bright orange sun setting.
I hear the sea gulls squawking.
I taste the bitter taste of ocean water.
I feel the cool breeze of the ocean wind.
