Bog by Lydia

There once was a dog

The bog was red
So the dog made a red bed
He eats a lot of cranberries

And that is the end!

I Am A Dog by Jeremy Scribner

I am a dog
Sometimes I hog
I am not sad
Neither am I mad

Give me food and I will be happy
Give me a scratch behind my ears and I will be happy
Give me a rabies shot and I will forget that ever happened 5 minutes later
and then I will be happy
and on the way back
I will stick my head out the window
and say, " hey look a hobo."

When I get home I will see
The kids waiting for me
Then while I sit down watching TV the kids will eat dinner
When they come back they will look like they tasted something bitter
After they watch their favoirte show
Mom will say, "It's time for bed, don't complain, just go."
and as they rest their eyes in bed
I will steal the place of the stuffed bear bed
Soon tomorrow will bring a brand new day
so I can wake up and play

I went to the mall
Bought a doll
At the Square One Mall
Then we went to The Limited Too
And got new shoes
I got a beagle
At American Eagle
I went to Coach
And got a broach
I went to Dior
And bought a door
I went to Build-a-Bear
And got a deer
Then I woke up in the middle of the night
And figured out that it was a beautiful sight

Roses are Red by Joey Lords

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Candy is sweet
And so are you

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Your hair is as blond
As the yellow sun
Your eyes are as blue as two crystal clear pools

About Our Class

We are a 6th grade Language Arts class from the Andrews Middle School in Medford, Massachusetts. Medford is a city north of Boston. It is a fun place to live. We are famous for boat making and the song, "Over the River and Through the Woods." Amelia Earhart, Maria Menunous, and Sean Bates all grew up here.
There are 14 students in our class. Our favorite poets are: Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, and Mattie Stepanek.
Once a month our class picks a charity to donate our money to. We have donated to: The Humane Society, The Jimmy Fund, and P.A.W.S., an organization that helps take care of and find homes for injured and stray cats and dogs on the North Shore. This is our first blog and first Poetry Slam!
